Buckland Church, Hertfordshire

Although not an old church by usual standards, dating to no earlier than 1348, Buckland is particularly handsome and is sited on the highest point between Royston and Buntingford. The tower and extensions were added around 1400 with some 15th Century fittings inside.

All this was freshened up and made modern in the 19th Century.

Today the church no longer functions in a parochial way but is instead administered by the Churches Conservation Trust.
