Jashar Pasha Mosque, Pristina, Kosovo

Jashar Mehmet Pasha was Governor of Skopje in 1842. Before that he was a wealthy citizen of Priština and according to inscriptions inside the Mosque that he paid for it was built in 1832.

The original entrance portico was demolished when a road passing in front of the Mosque was enlarged. Like much of Kosovo’s heritage, some serious remedial work is now needed to keep the Mosque from deteriorating from neglect.
