Letchworth Old Church, Hertfordshire

Ancient St. Mary’s is at the heart of Old Letchworth Village. A church here existed in Saxon times, but what remains today is a largely unchanged 12th Century structure. It has the smallest nave of any church in Hertfordshire and remained the Parish Church of “Old Letchworth” until 1967.

Today it stands almost hidden close by Letchworth Hall Hotel, a tiny fragment of Letchworth from before the Garden City.
