THRAPSTON CHURCH

Northamptonshire

Thrapston Church, Northamptonshire

A large church dating to the 13th Century stands close by where the vague remains of the castle sit. The church, dedicated to St. James, was heavily Victorianised and it seems probable that this was when the spire was added.

Inside is a stone tablet bearing the coat of arms of Sir John Washington which forms the origins of the Stars and Stripes US flag.
