Willian Church, Hertfordshire

The ancient Parish church of Willian is now rather forgotten sitting between a pub and the river. It seems likely to be an early foundation, although we’ve not managed to find specific dates for it. It is no longer the parish church, that function having transferred to St. Paul’s Church in Letchworth.

It is said that there is only a clock face on three sides of the tower so that workers in the fields did not know when it was time to leave work!
