Wrestlingworth Church, Bedfordshire

Reaching the Church of St. Peter in Wrestlingworth is an adventure in itself being up a tiny and winding track from the main road. It is, however, worth the effort as this tiny but visibly ancient church is one of the best Bedfordshire has to offer.

Early English in style it appears to pre-date the Norman Conquest, although the majority of what survives today is no early that 14th Century. For once it was sensitively renovated by the Victorians and this surprising little oasis today reeks of centuries past.
