Egypt is one of the cradles of the modern civilised world. It's empire is the earliest of which any great remains are left. Most famous being, of course, the Pyramids at Giza near the capital city, Cairo.

But there is more to Egypt than the Pyramids, a string of magnificent temples run down the length of the Nile from Alexandria in the north to Aswan in the south. Any doubt about the 'African-ness' of the country is dispelled when the people are encountered.
