CASTLES OF FLINTSHIRE

At present we haven't visited any Castles in this county

Flintshire is a peculiar shape, having a small detached part sandwiched between England and Denbighshire. All has since been absorbed into the new county of Clwyd. Most of the development is along the coast with towns such as Mold, Flint, Prestatyn and Rhyl.

It is also along this vulnerable north coast that the best Castles stand, including Rhuddlan, Flint (Edward I's first Welsh Castle), Ewloe and Hawarden - an impressive roll-call for such a small county.
