GALLERY '93: Picture Seven

Here's Roy doing a touch of weeding on behalf of the National Trust in order to clear some of the mess away from the remains of the Castle at Duffield in Derbyshire. Not only had weeds grown up and completely covered the remains, but someone had kindly covered the tops of the walls with tarmac thus making it even less like the scheduled monument it actually is.

Upon their return Andrew and Roy wrote to the National Trust to complain about the appalling state of the site and were fobbed off with a reply which told them it wasn't the National Trust's responsibility...well, just whose bloody responsibility is it then?

The day was 31st May 1993 and the picture was taken by Andrew.
