St. Francis of Assisi Church, Valletta, Malta

This Valletta church dates to 1598-1607 initially. However, this church was badly constructed and it was all but rebuilt at the behest of Grand Master Gregorio Carafa in 1681.

In the 1920s the church was enlarged and at that time some renaissance frescoes were demolished to allow for the enlargement (something which would never happen today).
