BETLEM CHURCH
Barcelona, Spain
One of the most frequently accidentally photographed churches in Barcelona it stands about half way down Las Ramblas. The church was built between 1681 and 1732 for the Jesuits. The elaborate Baroque façade is one of the many which ape the Gesú Church in Rome.
Unfortunately the interior of the church was entirely gutted by fire in 1938 and the formerly rich Baroque décor has been replaced by rather plain neo-classical.
