BALI BEG MOSQUE
Niš, Serbia
The Mosque inside Niš Fortress was built on the orders of Bali Beg around 1521 and was probably finished by 1523. It does not ever seem to have had a minaret and stood for many years unused after the Ottomans were ousted from Serbia.
In 1976 repairs were undertaken and today it operates (with very erratic hours) as a gallery.
